If you are choosing to use High Intensity Discharge (H.I.D.) Lighting you need to make another choice: Metal Halide (M.H.) or High Pressure Sodium (H.P.S.).  M.H. bulbs emit a blue / white spectrum to the naked eye. This color spectrum is better for vegetative growth.

• H.P.S. bulbs emit a red / orange spectrum that is ideal for the fruit and flowering stage of plants. It is also a good all around light as well.
